Shiro Vasti (Oil Retention Therapy on Head)
Description
Shiro means head and basti means retention of oil.
How is it done?
During the treatment, a leakproof leather cap is first securely fastened to the patient's head. Then, a highly potent warm medicated Ayurvedic oil is poured into it and retained for a specific duration. This is to enable the benefits of the oil to be trans dermally absorbed through the scalp.
How does it work?
When the medicated oil is retained on the affected area for a specific time, it facilitates the transdermal (through the skin) absorption of the oil and essence of herbs, increasing the blood circulation to the scalp and rejuvenating the nervous system.
Key benefits:
- Revitalizes the nervous system.
